My little nail blog has been so sad and lonely this week. I can sum it up in four little letters: W-O-R-K. I was a busy gal this week with work things. This is great, because Mama loves a paycheck. But it doesn’t leave a lot of time for blogging or even thinking at the end of the day, when I am totally exhausted. Adulting is hard, y’all — ha, ha!
And so, I have my “Friday Favorites” post on a Saturday this week. I am still working through my favorite blues, of which there are many, many, many. For today’s post, I have A.England, Orly, and Sinful Colors to share.
A. ENGLAND:
Katherine Parr was part of the Tudoresque Collection.
This is one of the most delicious blues in my stash. Not just my A. England stash, but my ENTIRE stash. It is deep and almost jewel-toned, but still vibrant. It is beautifully holographic. As has been my experience with most of the A. Englands in my stash, the holographic is not super, in-your-face strong. But it is delicate and subtly pretty as light travels across each nail.
Puck, a Fairy was part of the Shakespeare’s Fairies Collection.
So this blue would be off-the-charts amazing even without holographic. I mean, just LOOK at that color! It is so bold and beautiful. I like how it has an almost icy look to it that is perfect for Winter. But it is also bright and cheerful enough for Spring and Summer.
Spirit of the Moors was part of the To Emily Bronte Collection.
This blue reminds me of brand-new blue denim. It doesn’t quite have the darkness or depth of denim. But there is something about this color that makes me think “blue jeans” every time I look at it. I also love the teeny hint of purple in this polish.
ORLY:
Forget Me Not was part of the Spring 2017 La La Land Collection.
I don’t have a ton of Orly in my stash, overall. I love this brand. But I don’t buy as much from it. This is particularly true now that I have fallen down the indie polish rabbit hole in such a big way. So … I only have 1 blue favorite from Orly. But I think it is an amazing beauty!!
I was beyond OBSESSED with this polish when I first purchased it. I wore it several times in a manicure on its own. I used it as a base for nail art. I used it in gradients. You get the idea, right? Right! I freaking ADORED it. I still do, although I haven’t worn it in a while because of how much my stash continues to grow. This polish is like wearing air. There is something so refreshingly pretty about it. It makes me feel calm and peaceful, like all is right with the world.
SINFUL COLORS:
Blue La La was part of the Summer 2014 Chill Out Collection.
Sinful Colors is another brand that, currently, is not a large part of my stash. I used to buy a LOT from this brand. It was my main “drugstore nail polish” fix for many years. But I got annoyed with how the brand started spreading out their collections, so that I would have to drive all over town to put together an entire collection. At around the same time, I started buying more indie polishes. So … I destashed quite a lot of my Sinful Colors the last time I swatched through my whole stash. Anyhow, this is all a lot of background yakkity-yak to say I only have 1 favorite blue from Sinful Colors.
But this is also a good one. I love everything about it, from the slightly blurple color tone to the name. I like how this polish feels “floaty” on the nail. It feels kind of like your eyes struggle to figure out: Is this a blue? Is it a purple? Is it in between? The answer to all those questions is: YES! And it’s beautifully fabulous.
THE WRAP-UP:
What about you guys? Do you have any favorite blues from any of these brands? I would love to hear all about them.
These are all nice 😀
