I’m actually jumping in a day early to type this post. But WordPress will say it’s posted on Friday, anyhow … so that puts me right on time. Or something? Time has no meaning to me! Rawr!!
Today, I am heading into the Greens part of my little ROYGBIV series. I have some mainstream greens to share from China Glaze and OPI for today’s post.
Central Parka was part of the Fall 2018 FW’18 Ready to Wear Collection. I love, love, love an olive green. With a passion. I’m not sure what it is about this color, but it gets me all excited in a polish-hoarding, happy kind of way. And this one has a fabulous formula. It’s perfect for Fall and Winter, but I love this one as a Summer color, too. It has a nice depth that carries well from Summer and right into Fall.
Grinchworthy was part of the 2018 The Grinch Collection. I believe it was a holiday collection.
I was obsessed with this green the very moment I saw it. Once I put it on my nails, that obsession only grew. I love how it has a gorgeous green, but also some brighter greens, a few blue tones, and even some gold. It’s beautifully glittery and sparkly, too.
It’s Alive! was part of the Halloween 2011 Haunting Collection. I apologize for the old swatch photo on this one. I thought I had a more recent (meaning “better”) photo, but I do not. And this polish is not replaceable for me. I lucked into finding a bottle of it a couple of years ago. But once it is gone, I don’t think I’ll be able to find it again. All of this is to say that I don’t want to swatch this one just for the sake of swatching it; it’s too much of a waste. So … We will have to live with the old photo for now.
I adore this polish. I know most people are crazy for Zombie Zest from this collection. I like that one, too, but It’s Alive! holds my heart it its little hands. Or … something like that. I love the olive tones to the green in here. I love the gold glitters. I love everything about it.
Don’t Talk Bach To Me was part of the Fall 2012 Germany Collection. This is a weird, weird shade of green. It’s like an olive and a mustard, with some silvery shimmer tossed into the mix. I think of this as a “pea green”. It reminds me a little bit of pea soup. And I know this is not everyone’s cup of tea. But I have to say I freaking LOVE this color. I love it on its own. I love it in nail art. I just … love it! Yep. That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it!
Jade is the New Black was part of the 2010 Hong Kong Collection. And we have yet another old swatch photo. I’m trying to make sure it doesn’t happen that often, but it does happen. Meh. I’ll swap this out at one point or another.
For now, we can talk about what a great green this is! It has a horrible case of Ugly Bottle Syndrome, but it looks amazing on the nail. I love the depth of color. It is refreshing and vibrant on the nail, and it doesn’t stain. Total winner!
Ugh! The greens!! This is not a color I wear often, but it is a color I enjoy every time I do wear it. There is something so refreshing and fun about this color on the nails. It crosses every season, and it goes with everything, too!
What about you guys? Do you have any favorite greens from China Glaze or OPI? I would love to hear all about them!
