Nail Mail Monday: Zoya

It’s always a fun Nail Mail Monday when I am (1) on time with my post … and (2) have some pretty Zoya polishes to share! And both of those things are true today. Happy Monday!

I have had these polishes for quite some time. I know, I know. It’s inexcusable that it’s taken me this darn long to post about these little pretties. But today they are finally getting their moment in the sun. Or, the partly cloudy grayness. (Because there is no sun at my house today. Bummer.) I have 6 polishes to share today. As per usual, I will list the polishes in alphabetical order, and the descriptions are from Zoya’s website.

zoya-briar-sm

Briar originally released as part of the Fall 2019 Sensual Collection. It is a “red-toned terra-cotta cream”. This polish has a fantastic formula. It applied easily and built up well for me for full opacity in 1-2 coats. When I swatched, it was basically opaque in 1 coat, but y’all know I always go for coat number 2.

Ugh. I freaking love this. You guys already know I have a deep and abiding love for pretty much every type of “grandma” rose-toned polish. And for anything and everything that even approaches that color family. I think this one is right on the edge of being a “grandma” polish, but it’s good enough for me. I love the mix of red, pink, and orange in this polish. It’s so pretty on the nail, and I love how it manages to be both bright and neutral at the same time. You can be assured that I shall love on this polish HARD while it’s in my stash. It’s so pretty!!

zoya-elliot-sm

Elliot originally released as part of the Fall 2019 Sensual Collection. It is a “blackened peacock blue cream”. I thought the formula was good on this polish. I used the regular, thinner brush to swatch it, and I had some streaking on the first coat. The streaks filled in well, and the polish built to full opacity for me in 2 coats.

This polish is MAGNIFICENT. Seriously. It makes my little, dark-polish-lovin’ heart beat just a bit faster. I love the color tone. It is vampy and dark, but with beautiful depth to it. I’ve worn this one in a gradient already, and it was beautiful. But I still need to manicure with it all on its own. I think this one will also be great as a pedicure color.

zoya-etta-sm

Etta originally released with the Fall 2019 Sensual Collection. It is a “vampy cabernet with a hint of violet micro pearl”. This polish has a great formula. It practically glided onto my nails for the swatch, and it was opaque for me in 1-2 coats.

Oh my good, googley gosh!! Just look at this polish. LOOOOK!! It is so stinkin’ pretty. I love the depth of color and the vampy darkness it has. But I also love the shimmer, which is gentle and gives just a hint of mystery as the light falls across each nail. It seems like such a simple polish, and I suppose it is. But it is one of those polishes that I can’t stop looking at when it’s on my nails.

zoya-gabi-sm

Gabi originally released as part of the Holiday 2019 Twinkling Collection. It is a “midnight purple aubergine”. The formula on this one was great for me. It practically applied itself for full opacity in 1-2 coats.

This polish is the most eggplanty eggplant that you can ever hope to find. And I LURVE it. To bits. It is gorgeous on the nail, and I love how deep the color is, particularly after that second coat. It’s an amazing purple, but it still feels neutral to me.

zoya-mai-sm

Mai originally released as part of the Holiday 2019 Twinkling Collection. This polish has a fantastic formula. It was easy to apply and build on the nail, and I liked the opacity in 1-2 coats.

Look at this grandma-rose goodness!!! It makes me want to cry in happiness. I know that sounds silly, but nail polish is like that for me. I get all emotional over the pretty. And this polish has more than its fair share of pretty. It falls right into that “grandma rose” sweet spot for me. I love it as a neutral with a little extra punch to it. I love seeing it on my nails. I love it as a pedicure color. I freaking love everything about this one.

zoya-tieran-sm

Tieran originally released as part of the Holiday 2019 Twinkling Collection. This polish has a great formula. It was opaque for me in 1-2 coats.

Have I mentioned how much I love a good gray nail polish? Yep, probably a million times or so. And it remains true. I LOVE a good gray nail polish! And this one definitely fits that description. It is a yummy, yummy shade of gray, and the formula is perfection. I feel like this one hits all the high points.

THE WRAP-UP:

Whew! I am so glad I finally remembered to post about these! It sounds terrible to say it, but I had almost forgotten about them. I hadn’t forgotten I had them, but I had almost forgotten that I never posted about them. As I have said, many times, Life has been in my way for a while now. I am beginning to realize this is not going to change. Thank goodness I keep notes of everything I swatch!

I realize many of these (maybe most of these? or all of them? hmmmm …) may seem much more appropriate for Fall or Winter. But I love darker colors all year long, both for manicures and pedicures. If you are interested in any of these polishes, they are all still available for purchase on Zoya’s website.
