March Manicure Favorites

It’s April 1, y’all!! Happy April Fool’s Day! Given the current and continuing need for social isolation and social distancing, it has been a fairly uneventful April Fool’s Day this year. I was halfway hoping I would wake up to find out COVID-19 was one big, epic “gotcha”. Alas, that did not happen.

But there’s nothing foolish (in my opinion, anyhow) about my favorite March manicures. I feel like I didn’t manicure as much as usual this month, mainly because I was busy with work for most of the month. After my contract work temporarily (I hope!) dried up, I tried to stay busy with life things. Truthfully, I’ve been getting through my doldrums by watching Pride & Prejudice (the 1995 BBC version) on endless repeat. Don’t judge me! We all cope in our various ways. *ahem*

I made up for the lack of manicures by wearing a lot of stuff I really, really, really LOVED this past month. I have 8 favorites to share in today’s post. Go me!

My first fave for the month is Glam Polish, Yes Sir, Captain Tight Pants. I love, love, love, love, LOVE the shimmer in this polish. It pushes the base color to this in-between land that exists next to “brick red” and “grandma rose”. And it really gets my motor running. Rawr!

My next favorite was this shimmery, shifty beauty from Cupcake Polish: Blue Lagoon. This was part of their Iceland Collection. Y’all may remember I fell pretty hard for that entire collection. This beauty was a favorite for me, and I enjoyed the heck out of it when I manicured with it. It is so icy and almost stark. But it is also delicate.

Noodles Nail Polish, Feathered Flight. It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to see this pretty polish on my favorites list for March. After all, I went on and on and on about how sentimental it was and how it brought back sweet memories from my childhood. On top of all that, it is a gorgeous color combination. I love how I can see All The Colors in here.

My next favorite is a shop-my-stash polish: Quixotic Polish, Shamrock Shimmy. It’s sort of an “oldie”, in terms of my Quixotic stash because I haven’t been collecting from this brand for that long. But it is always a “goodie” when I see this on my nails. I had to pull this one out for my St. Patrick’s Day manicure. And it was perfection, as always!

My next favorite was this gradient with Quixotic Polish, Chartreuse Swizzle and Treat Yo Self 2019. I stamped over it with China Glaze, Best Ponies Forever and a cherry blossom design. Sadly, I feel like the design didn’t show well enough. But this gradient was Everything to me. I love these two colors together.

Polished For Days, Sea-ing is Believing … Stamped with Funky Fingers, Dark Knight and a design from Born Pretty plate BP-22. This polish had to go onto my favorites list one way or another. I wore it alone for a few days and then stamped over it to extend that manicure for a few more days. I loved this design. It’s a favorite for me, in general. But this black against the base color is perfection to me. And, of course, this polish is beyond magical.

OPI, Nessie Plays Hide and Sea-k was my next favorite for the month. I stamped over this polish, too, but I found I liked it slightly better on its own. The stamping covers the delicate shimmer too much. This polish is so stinkin’ PRETTY!! I love the shimmer and the gentle color shifts. The polish has a mysterious quality to it, and I adore the darkness in the base.

Aaaaand, rounding out my favorites list, we have Quixotic Polish, The Sacred Peacock. This one just barely snuck under the wire for March. I’m still wearing it now, in April … so it might have to go on my April favorites list, too! Hmmm.

Whew! What a great month, y’all! As I said before, I might not have manicured a lot during the month. But I definitely found my happy place with all these pretty, pretty polishes.

What about you guys? What were you wearing and loving during March? I would love to hear all about it!
