My Week in Nails

Since I decided to start my favorites series on Fridays, I figured I would push my usual weekly manicure wrap-up to Saturdays. After all, a little nail polish fun brightens up any weekend, right? Ha!

I had four manicures for this week, making it a fairly average week for me. But I was able to fit in some nail art, so that was extra fun!

I started off the week with a bit of nail art. I used China Glaze, Giggling All the Way as the base for this manicure. I stamped it with Funky Fingers, Dark Knight and a design from Born Pretty plate BP-22.

This paisley design is one of my favorites out of my whole stamping plate stash. (Not that I have a very large stash of plates, but … anyhoo.) I love it over pretty much any base color. And I love it stamped in pretty much every color. And it’s great for any time of the year. Basically, if I feel like stamping and can’t figure out what design I want, I pull out this plate and go to town.

I liked this manicure, overall. But I didn’t wear it for very long. I like Giggling All the Way, but I think I wasn’t in the mood for this color when I wore it. I’m hoping to pull it out and wear it again sometime in the future. But the black stamping was a nice contrast with it.

My next manicure was with this Colores de Carol, which I have (oh so cleverly — ha!) named “Prototype 5“. I enjoyed the heck out of this manicure. Y’all know how I love a gold- or yellow-toned green with a slightly swampy appearance. So this one had me at “hello, there”. But it also has a blue shimmer to it that gives it an interesting sheen on the nail as the light floats across it. And it has color-changing flakes, too! What?? I know!! I love it.

My next manicure was with China Glaze, Prairie Tale Ending (light brown), stamped with China Glaze, Don’t Desert Me and a design from What’s Up Nails plate B035 and OPI, Romeo & Joliet, stamped with China Glaze, Best Ponies Forever and a design from Bundle Monster BM-XL123. Whew! That was a mouthful, even for typing.

So … this manicure. Meh. I didn’t love it. I adore Romeo & Joliet. It is a favorite of mine. I also really enjoy Prairie Tale Ending. But I didn’t like wearing these two together. I had fun with the stamping, though. I particularly like the gold waves/clouds on my middle and ring fingers. I kind of wish I had done the whole manicure like that. Live and learn!

And this is what I’m wearing right now! And, hopefully, for the next few days. Because I am freaking IN LOVE with this polish. This is Glam Polish, Shadows of Endor.

I hope to do a longer post including this one in the near future, so I won’t natter on about it all that much right now. But I will say this: HUBBA-HUBBA!! This polish makes me so, so, sooooooo happy!

And so, we put another week of manicures to bed. My week has been a busy one. I am getting myself together so I can start hunting for a job, which means things are going to keep on being busy for the foreseeable future. Yikes! It’s all a little bit terrifying, but also a little bit exciting.

What about you guys? What were you wearing during the past week? Did you have any particular favorites? I would love to hear all about them!
