It’s Friday — yay!! And I am actually be-bopping in here ON TIME for once. Go me! I have had a busy day unsuccessfully browsing a music store sale. I was unsuccessful because the thing I wanted wasn’t on sale. Bummer. And then, I came home and unpacked five of the boxes we hauled back from our storage unit over the Christmas holidays. I am feeling quite sassy about it all. Rawr!
I feel like I had a pretty good manicure week this week. I got in quite a bit of winter-themed nail art, which was a goal of mine. Everything was so crazy leading up to Christmas this year that I didn’t get to do much other than change out my polish every few days. And I wore a few new polishes, too. Fun times!!
This is Quixotic Polish, Snow Cap … stamped with China Glaze, Don’t Desert Me and What’s Up Nails plate B035.
You are not seeing things! I know this was my last manicure for last week’s nails post. I liked it so much that I continued wearing it into the first part of this week. Honestly, I loved this manicure. I was so happy about how it turned out, and I loved the magical, fairy-tale look of it so much that I would still be wearing it right now. Except … I have blue hair. This means light colored polishes eventually turn blue and dirty-looking on the tips of my nails. That is just what happened to this manicure, so I knew it was time to change it. But it was so much fun while it lasted!
My next manicure was with Colores de Carol, Holiday Spirit. I stamped over it with China Glaze, Best Ponies Forever and designs from What’s Up Nails plate B035.
I love, love, LOVE this green! It is, in my eyes, a perfect Christmas/winter/holiday green. It is jewel-toned and elegant and rich. I also love the glitters and shimmers running throughout this polish. I am pretty sure I gabbed on and on about them when I posted about the Holiday 2019 collection.
It doesn’t quite feel like “winter” or “Christmas” to me until I have tried to wrangle this deer stamping design into a manicure and onto my nails. It is one of those designs I look forward to using all year! This year, my nails are much shorter. They still haven’t recovered from the move. I wasn’t sure if my deer would fit. But it did. Huzzah!
And, of course, I can’t get enough of snowflake designs at this time of year. It is festive for the holidays, but I love it all the way through January and even through February, because our cold weather usually hangs on until March. (Well, it hung around until March in Virginia. I am presuming Illinois will be similar.) So, even though I’ve used snowflakes in a couple of manicures already, I could not resist including them with my deer design. I love the green and gold color combo, too — as y’all already know!
For my next manicure, I did a gradient with Quixotic Polish, Winter’s Eve and Pixie Stick. Both of these polishes are from the Winter 2019 Cold Front Collection. I kept looking at the bottles next to each other on my desk and thinking about how pretty they were together. Finally, I grabbed my makeup sponge and went crazy!! I love how the gradient turned out. But it was oh-so hard to photograph. Both of the colors have a lot of shimmer and shift as the light angles across each nail.
I decided to do a little starry stamping over my gradient with China Glaze, Best Ponies Forever. The design is from Bundle Monster BM-XL213. It’s the Kelli Marissa space-themed plate, and this star design is one of my favorites from it. I feel like it looks cute and playful in any type of manicure and for any time of the year!
And … last but not least, here is my manicure today! This is Colores de Carol, Hey Hey PJ’s All Day paired with Black Heart Beauty, Muted Lime Green.
Y’all! I am loving HARD on this lime green polish. This is the second time I’ve worn it. Am I going to have to include a Black Heart Beauty polish on my favorites list for 2020? Hmmmm … maybe!
I was excited I finally got to use Hey, Hey PJs All Day in a manicure. This polish was part of the 2019 Advent Calendar, and it is so, so, so, soooooo darn pretty! I have a feeling it is going to come back out to play for some Spring manicures, too. I love the pearly pastel glitters in here, and the crelly base is a perfect color. I am happy with how this manicure turned out, overall. It took me a little while to figure out which color I wanted to pair with this crelly. But I love the contrast of pastel and bright.
That’s it for my week, y’all! I feel like I actually had a pretty busy week in nails. I did more manicures and more nail art than I have been doing each week for the last several months. I don’t know if this means I was avoiding doing other work, or if things are finally starting to settle down a little bit so that I feel like I have the time to devote to nail polish fun. Perhaps a mix of both.
What about you guys? What did you wear this week? What did you love? I would love to hear all about it!
