Nail Mail Monday: Colores de Carol & Quixotic Polish

Hey, y’all!! I can’t believe it is Monday again. The start of a new week. And I am oh-so-not ready for it. You know what else I’m not ready for? The end of November! It is quickly approaching. I am looking forward to traveling for Thanksgiving. We are heading to Virginia to catch up with some dear friends. They weren’t born family to us, but they are the family of our hearts.

My weekend was busy with family time, writing, and some errands. So I neglected to post my weekly manicure wrap-up. Hopefully, I will get to it in the next few days. For today, I have a fun nail mail to share. I have not been purchasing a ton of things recently, but I am pretty excited about the pretties that have been trickling into my stash. Today, I have a couple of Colores de Carol polishes, as well as one oh-so-lovely Quixotic.

I have a couple of polishes from this brand for today’s post. Both of these are part of the Halloween 2019 Collection. I debated for some time, but finally decided not to purchase the whole collection. I have been trying to be more mindful of what I add to my stash, as it continues to grow like crazy. But I could not pass the collection up entirely. I ended up grabbing two polishes.

Annabelle is a “light gray crelly with copper shimmer and copper holo blend glitter and orange holo blend glitter”. This polish has a lovely, lovely formula. It had a nice and even application for me with little to no streaking and/or low spots. I liked the opacity in 2-3 coats. I used 3 coats for my photo, but I could see myself wearing this one in real life at 2.

Ugh! You guys!! I really, really, really like this polish. In fact, I love it to bits. The light gray is a beautifully soft base color. It is not stark or harsh, as sometimes can happen in a crelly polish. I love the orange and copper tones, and I love the way they mix with the base color. I think this one is fantastic for Halloween and Fall. But, really, I can see myself wearing this polish any time of the year. It is soft, pretty, and perfect on the nail. I am beyond happy I was able to grab this one, because I know I am going to love wearing it for a long time to come.

Clarice is an “orange jelly with green glitter, purple glitter, and iridescent flakes”. This polish has a great formula. It has nice opacity, particularly for a jelly base, and it builds well on the nail. I liked the opacity in 2-3 coats. I used 3 for my swatch photo. I have already worn this one in a real-life manicure, and I used 2 coats on some nails and 3 on others. I think this was down to my application technique.

Oh. My. GOSH!! If I took all the things that were “Halloween”, tossed them into a blender, and then poured that into a bottle … I would have this polish. I am not kidding. It truly is “Halloween in a bottle” to my eye. I love the brightness of the base, as well as the fun mix of glitter colors in here. In particular, there are some very pretty golds that happen through every layer of the manicure when the light hits it just right. Every glitter color stands out perfectly against this base, and I feel it has a gorgeous glow on the nail.

Of course, this one is perfect for Halloween. But I can see myself wearing this in Spring and Summer, too. It is such a happy and cheerful polish, I can’t bring myself to leave it in my storage for most of the year. I have a bit of a soft spot for oranges, after all.

Float Away is a “medium blue base loaded with pink shifting flakes, holo micro flakes, and pink to green shifting shimmer”. This polish has a fabulous formula. It practically applies itself, and I love the opacity at 2-3 coats. I used 3 in my swatch photo. I feel this is opaque in 2 coats, but I love the depth of color from that third coat.

This was the Quixotic Polish contribution for October’s Hella Handmade Creations sale. It is based on the graffiti theme that Quixotic carried through a few months, and this is the last polish for that particular theme.

So … you guys probably know this already, but I’m going to type it out loud, anyhow: O.M.G. IFREAKINGLOVETHISSOMUCHICAN’TSTANDIT!!!!!

Yep. I think that about covers it. I adore this polish. The blue base is a perfect shade. It is deep, rich, and nearly jewel-toned, but without being too dark. And the shifting colors from the flakes look amazing against it. This is definitely one of those polishes I could wear on my nails constantly. And I would never get tired of it!

Oh, gosh. I love this nail mail haul. I know I say that a lot on this blog. It falls into the “sorry, not sorry” category for me, because these pretty polishes never fail to make me happy. But each of these makes my little, glass, polish-loving heart pitter-patter like mad!!

Happy Monday to you all! I hope you all have a great day, and that it kicks off a great week for you.
