Nail Mail Monday: Nine Zero Lacquer

Hello, hello, hello!! Last week was a bit short on nail polish shenanigans for me. My family and I traveled to Austin, Texas. We saw family there and visited the University of Texas with our daughter. I can’t believe the time for her to fly away from our nest is quickly approaching. Y’all!! I am so not ready for any of this!! Best not to think about it. Instead, let’s talk about some polish fun.

Today, I have a little hodge-podge of Nine Zero Lacquer polishes to share. I picked up four polishes on a recent browse of the site. One of  them is an old favorite, and I wanted a back-up. One is new for Fall/Halloween 2019. And two are returning polishes from previous Halloween collections. I’m pretty darn excited about all of them, as it has been a while since I had new Nine Zeros coming into my stash.

As always, I will list these in alphabetical order, and the polish descriptions are from the Nine Zero website. Also, as per usual, I have a feeling WordPress will date this post from tomorrow (Tuesday, November 12), but I am actually posting it on Monday the 11th. I have no idea why this bugs me so, but it does. Must think on this. Must also think on how to fix this weirdness. Ha!

B+ is a “red jelly base with red holographic glitter and black shredded glitter”. This polish has a great formula. It is sheer, as expected from a jelly base. But it is easy to apply. It builds up well on the nail, and I liked the opacity in 3-4 coats. I used 4 for my swatch photo. But I happily wore this polish at 3 and loved it.

Look how pretty this is! Ugh. I can’t even. I’ve said many times (and shall say many more) that I am not always one for reds. But I love the color of this base. And I am a big fan of the glitters in here. They are so pretty through every single layer of the manicure. The black shreds act like the perfect punctuation or accent mark.

This was one of the returning Halloween polishes. I have looked at this one and debated over it before. I could not decide whether I would like it in person, although I have always loved how it looks in swatch photos. This year, I finally let the online swatch photos win me over. And you know what? I have no regrets whatsoever. This one is even prettier in person than it is in swatch photos. I love it!

Decay is a “brown/green jelly with gold shimmer”. This has a good formula. It is easy to apply and opaque in 2-3 coats. I used 3 for my swatch photo. I am pretty positive I will wear it at 2 when I use it in a full manicure.

This polish is new for Fall/Halloween 2019. And I freaking adore it. I needed it the moment I saw it. NEEDED IT, I tell ‘ya! I am a fan of yellow-toned greens and of greens that have gold glitter or shimmer in them. So it is like this little beauty was created just for me. Boo-ya!! It is murky, mossy, and all-around fabulous. The touch of gold is delicate and oh-so pretty. I sense this is going to become a favorite for me in no time.

nzl-ectoplasm2-sm

Ectoplasm is a “neon green crelly base with black, white, purple, and orange glitter”. This has a fantastic formula. It is easy to apply and opaque in 2-3 coats.

I am hella impressed with the application for this polish. I often have trouble with application for crelly polishes. They tend to streak or leave low spots, no matter how careful I am. But this one had such a fantastic formula for me. I had no problems with it at all. It had minimal streaking on the first coat and a nice amount of glitter came out with each stroke of the brush.

This is another returning polish. I looked at it in the past, but always left it alone because of how bright it was. I am generally not much for neons. This year, this one called out to me, and I found it jumping into my cart. I am so happy it did! This green is bright, bright, BRIGHT!! I love how playful and fun it is. The glitter combo is perfect for Halloween. But I think it would be fun for any time of the year.

And, finally … rounding out my nail mail fun is Swamp Thing. This is a “yellow/green base packed with gold shimmer”. This polish has a great formula. It practically applies itself, and I love the opacity in 2 coats.

This is another returning polish. I don’t even know how to begin explaining how much I adore this polish. I freaking LOVE it. When I realized it had returned for Halloween and that it was still available on the site, I had to take the chance to grab a back-up bottle. This is my favorite green out of my entire collection. It makes my heart sing in happiness whenever I wear it.

I’ve already mentioned how much I love a yellow-toned green. And how much I love a green with gold glitter or shimmer. This lovely is perfect for me, all the way around. It is beautiful on the nail. I love how it glows in every light, and I love the color tone. It is beautiful in the Fall and Winter. But I also love it in Spring. And I think it is perfect for Summer.

THE WRAP-UP:

Did I mention how happy I was with this little haul? Because I am so, so, so, so FREAKING happy about it! I love every one of these polishes. In the case of the returning polishes, I was happy to have a second chance at them. And, of course, I can never get enough of my beloved Swamp Thing. I adore that polish so much!

If you are interested in any of these pretties, they are still available for purchase on the Nine Zero website. I checked just before writing this post. I am not sure now much longer they will be in the store.
