Kind of a slow posting week this week in the nails blog. I’ve been planning out rooms for our new house, which means hours of internet searching and debating. It has taken up most of my time this week, along with the ending activities for school and winding down our life here in VA in preparation for our move. Not that I’m complaining! I am so excited about the new house, and I love everything about planning out new rooms.
I also love doing my nails, as you guys know! I had a pretty good manicure week this week. I managed to get in some fun nail art. (I think it’s fun, at least!) And I had some beloved manicures with just single colors, too.
I started out my week with my first Pride manicure for the month. I used Zoya, Agnes for the base color. And the stripes are done with acrylic paint.
I wanted to use the “older” version of the Pride flag, which includes some pink and some turquoise or teal. And I initially wanted to do the colors across my nails in this sort of curving swoop. I saw a similar manicure, using different Pride colors, that had gorgeously swooping lines across all the nails. It was so beautiful, and it was my inspiration for this. Unfortunately, my nails are a small canvas and my free-hand skills are not quite up to snuff. I also decided to use more colors than my inspiration manicure used. Combine all of that with the fact that all of my normal nail art supplies are packed away, and it means I am left with this: simple lines on a diagonal. Even though it wasn’t what I initially planned to do, I was super happy with how this manicure turned out.
My next manicure was with Quixotic Polish, Funny Creature.
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you! I’m using a slightly older swatch photo here because I forgot to take a new photo when I wore this with my now-almond shaped nails. The Little Prince Collection was the last collection I swatched before I decided to change my nail shape.
I love this shimmery and slightly sparkling blue. It is definitely my jam. I love colors like this, and it has some shimmer and some flakes. Basically, this is a polish that has all the things I like, all rolled into one lovely little package. I looooved wearing this. And I am pretty sure I will be wearing it again soon.
My next manicure was with Colores de Carol, All In.
This is part of a brand-new collection, called Casino Nights, which is releasing on the Colores de Carol website today. I was lucky enough to win the collection in a give-away, so I had a little bit of a sneak peek! I couldn’t believe it, and I was so, so, so excited when I won! I almost never win anything, so it really made my whole week.
I am planning a post about the collection for the coming week, so I won’t natter on about this one too much in this post. But I loved wearing it. I loved everything about this one, and I wore it for a couple of days. I would still have it on my nails now, except I got a couple of little chips on my right hand. It is unusual for me to be this ga-ga over a red!
And this is my manicure for today. In fact, I just finished it about twenty minutes before starting this post! This is Quixotic Polish, Look Out Old Baltimore. It is from the Hairspray Collection, which Mary created for a recent Indie Shop event. Luckily, there were a few sets of the collection left, and I managed to ninja-grab one when they released on the Quixotic website. So, so happy I did!
I love this polish. It has such a gorgeous mix of white and bronze-gold-copper in it. I loooove the flakes in here. And the shimmer is gorgeous. I have tons of crellies in my stash. I have tons of flakie polishes in my stash. I have tons of shimmers in my stash. And yet, I don’t have anything that looks quite like this. It is so great for Summer. But I think this one will feel quite at home during the Fall and Winter, too. I love it!! Oh, wait … Did I already mention that? Ha!
So that’s it, guys! My whole week in nail polish. I had a fun week with my manicures this week. I felt a lot of joy from everything I wore, and that is what it’s all about. What about you guys? What were you wearing and loving this past week? I would love to hear all about it!
