It’s a Friday that feels like a Saturday at my house. My daughter finished up the 3rd quarter of school yesterday, so there is no school today. And we are about to run out to do errands and appointments and all that jazz. No rest for the wicked, as my Dad would say.
I had a pretty good manicure week, as always. I feel like a broken record, in a way, because I know I always say this. But I also feel lucky in that I generally enjoy every polish I wear. It doesn’t happen very often that I wear something and hate it. This makes me feel like a lucky, lucky polish-lovin’ maniac!
This week was a rather small manicure week for me. As you guys know, we are still gearing up for our move. There is a lot of work left to do and not much energy with which to do it. Most of my nail polish is packed, although I have left out some goodies to keep me going over the next 3-6 months. And I was sick over the past week, too. So … yeah. You get the idea.
My week started off with China Glaze, Don’t Be Sea Salty. I was in the mood for something bright, and this vibrant and almost-neon pink fit the bill nicely. I feel like I read a lot of negative reviews and thoughts about this polish, but I like it a lot. The formula can be slightly tricky. It’s not truly difficult, but you need to take your time with it. Even so, it was nicely opaque for me in 2 coats, and I enjoyed the heck out of this one on my nails. I love the little shimmers, which show under a glossy top coat.
My next manicure was with Lollipop Posse Lacquer, Those Who Were Neither. This is my second time wearing this polish, and I wore it for at least 3 days. Maybe 4? Honestly, I would still be wearing it right now. But it got a little more tip wear than I prefer. Anyhow … The point is this: I FREAKING love this polish! It is magical and shifty and amazing in every type of lighting. I love the color, which seems to vibrate between coppery red and sunset pink-orange. I love the flakes. This one makes me so, so, so happy. What else can I say?
And that brings me to my current (and last) manicure for the week. This is Moon Shine Mani, More Cowbell. This is my first time wearing this polish, and I can’t believe it has taken me this long. I am pretty much in lovey-lust with it. I love the mossy green and gold color combination. And, every so often, the light falls just right for me to catch a shimmering of pinky-red from the glitters. It is unusual in all the best ways, and I’m pretty sure this one is destined to be a favorite for me.
So that’s it for my entire week of nails! What??? I know! It’s been kind of crazy for me lately, in that I have had fewer manicures than normal. I have been busy with life stuff, which definitely cuts down on my manicure time. But I’ve also worn a few things that thrill me to bits on my nails. When I have polishes like that on, I sometimes can’t bring myself to take them off. Yay for a longer wearing time!
What about you guys? What have you been wearing and loving over the past week? I would love to hear all about it!
