I have a “special” Saturday swatch-a-palooza today! It’s “special” because I didn’t do it earlier in the week. Instead, I’m doing it today. So, yeah. It’s not really “special”, but doesn’t that sound so much better than saying I was unorganized and tardy? It does! And thus, I shall stick with it. Huzzah!
Today, I am showing the first part of my Moon Shine Mani stash. You know what’s funny? I didn’t have anything from this brand when I first started this project. I’m actually not sure this brand existed when I first started swatching through my stash. But it exists now! And I love the Moon Shine beauties that live in my hoard.
Moon Shine Mani is the brainchild of the lovely and creative Phoebe Moon. And I’m sure you already know Phoebe has a fabulous YouTube channel. It’s one of my favorites!! I love her cheerful and sunny personality. She always makes me feel better about my day, and she is a lady who really knows her polish. So, of course, it’s a no-brainer that her polish brand would be fantabulous, too!
You can find Moon Shine Mani’s beautiful polishes on her website, http://www.moonshinemani.com. Her polishes are usually around $11 each, and she does flat-rate shipping for $3 in the US, $12 in Canada, and $18 everywhere else. If you spend over $50, there is a code on the website that will give you 10% off your entire order. I have always found shipping super prompt when ordering through the Moon Shine Mani site.
BOTTLE & BRUSH INFO:
Each bottle of Moon Shine Mani contains 15 – 17ml of polish. I love the shape of these bottles. They are rectangular and slim, which makes them comfortable to hold while applying polish. The bottle is curved at the bottom and the top, giving it a sweet, vintage look. I think this brand has one of my favorite bottle shapes. It is really pretty to look at! The cap is on the shorter side, but still easy to hold onto while applying polish. The brush is wide and nicely rounded. It is the perfect size for my nails!
Wowza! That was a lot of info. But we are diving into the colors right now!
RED & PINK:
Gryffindor Nerve and Chivalry is a scarlet to brick red cream filled to the brim with sparkling gold and ruby glitters, flakies and shimmer. It has a lovely formula that is opaque in 2 easy coats.
It’s so funny that I keep saying I’m not a gal who wears red. But I have almost as many Moon Shine Mani reds and pinks as blues! Shocking!!
And this is a great red. It is so glittery and sparkly and just perfect in every way. It’s a strong color, and I love how it looks against my skin tone. So pretty!
The Fire Swamp is a rusty, fire-orange jelly base with red-gold-green multi-chrome shimmer, red-copper-gold-green multi-chrome flakes, gold holo flakes, and red-gold-green shifting glitters. It has a great formula that is opaque for me in 2-3 coats.
This polish took me by surprise. I love the red-orange color that dominates the base. The glitters are gorgeous in here. As the light shifts across my nails, I can see coppers and brassy-looking glitters, as well as some deeper oranges. And, every so often, I get a strong flash of pink. Ugh. It is so darn pretty!! It’s flame-tastic! (Ha! See what I did there?)
‘Tis Hammertime is a scarlet jelly base with cherry glitters, chameleon glitters (red-gold-green), gold holo flakes, a dusting of copper scattered holo, and micro gun metal glitter. It has a great formula that is opaque in 2 easy coats.
I think this polish might be my favorite Moon Shine Mani red, although it is pretty hard to pick! I love how deep this base color is. It is ever-so-slightly blackened, just at the edges. And the glitters play against it perfectly. I love it, and I love looking at it on my nails.
Totality is a plum jelly base with intense auburn shimmer, red-orange-green shifting glitters, gold holo flakes, red-green iridescent glitter, and matte peach glitter. It has a fantastic formula that is opaque in 2 easy coats.
So, possibly, this polish should be in with the purples. Because the Moon Shine description of it says it is a plum base. But it has always read cranberry to my eye. And so, it is in here with the reds and pinks. I love, love, love this polish. The base is such a pretty, deep, and rich color. The glitters are perfection. It’s fantastic and fun to wear.
True Love is a raspberry linear holographic with blue undertones. It has a fabulous formula that is opaque in 1 coat. I always wear it at 2 because I like it best that way.
This polish is so, so, so, sooooo yummy. I love it. It is deep and beautiful and rainbow-sparkly on the nail. It is a perfect tone of pink, and I love it against my skin tone. So pretty!!
ORANGE & YELLOW:
Photosphere is a honey-orange jelly base packed with auburn shimmer, red-orange-green shifting glitters, and chartreuse holo glitters. It has a great formula that is opaque in 2-3 coats.
Oh my gosh! Just look at this amazing polish! It’s like wearing the sun on your nails. So bright and pretty and fiery.
Hufflepuff Just and Loyal is a gleaming buttery gold base packed with gold shimmer and an abundance of black holo glitters and dots in various sizes, gold holo glitters, and iridescent yellow glitters for an extra sparkle. It has a fantastic formula that is opaque in 2-3 coats.
I am a bit sentimentally attached to this polish, because Hufflepuff is my house! It’s also my daughter’s house, which I think is pretty darn neat. But, even without the sentimental attachment, I would adore this polish. I love a good yellow. And this one is fabulous. It is bright without being brassy. And the glitters are fabulous. My favorites are the black dots. So pretty against the yellow base!
Ragnarok is a multi chrome that shifts from yellow-green to gold to bronze to red. It has teal-blue-violet shifting flakes and bright fuchsia flakes. This polish has a lovely formula that is opaque in 2 easy coats.
This polish blew me away when I saw it in person for the first time. It has a strong and beautiful shift, and the colors are unique and unexpected. It looks soft and velvety on the nail. Ugh. I love it.
Low Key Loki is a yellow-toned green with gold and green shimmers. It has a great formula that is opaque for me in 2 easy coats.
I love the golden tones in this polish. It gives the green a rich look on the nail, as well as an unexpected depth and dimension. This feels like such a perfect polish for Fall and for the Holidays, too. Super pretty!
Slytherin Ambitious and Cunning is a shimmering deep hunter green linear holo with silver holo micro glitters and flakies and shifting teal/green micro glitters. It has a great formula that is opaque for me in 2 easy coats.
This polish glistens off the nail so beautifully. It is rich and elegant but also a little bit mysterious. The silvers take on a green tone in the base, which gives this polish a cohesive and gorgeous look on the nail.
Inconceivable! is a multi-chrome that shifts from fuchsia to teal to green, and it has red-copper-gold-green multi-chrome flakes. The formula is wonderful and opaque in 2 coats.
Ugh. Just kill me dead. Because this polish is so pretty. I love the mix of violet and blue in here. And those flakes!! Ugh. So much love for this shifty beauty.
That brings us to the end of about half of my Moon Shine Mani stash. I have a total of 24 polishes from this brand, and I included 11 of them here. Next week, I will finish up with the rest of this brand, including my beloved blues.
I have nothing but good things to say about Moon Shine Mani. So far, I have loved every polish I’ve purchased from them, and I have always had a great customer experience. I am hoping this part of my stash continues to grow in the future!
