I am sitting at my desk, waiting for my husband to be ready to go on an evening walk with me. And what better way to while away the moments than with a week ‘o’ manicures post?
Oh, sure … reading fine literature or writing a manifesto or searching for a cure to cancer … Those are all much better ways of spending one’s time. But the nails are what I have, so that’s what I’m going with! And I do not regret it. Woo Hoo!
This should be a fairly short post, if I can keep my chit-chat to a minimum. I only had 3 manicures this week. This is partially because I was working on a project that required quite a bit of swatching. But it was also because I was madly in love with one of the colors I wore this week, and I didn’t want to take it off!
So let’s just start off with Mad Love. This is Colores de Carol, Camping Hair, Don’t Care!, and it was my first manicure of the week this week. It was nearly my last, too. I did not want to take this beautiful red off of my nails! And you guys know I’m not a “red gal”. It was crazy, I tell ‘ya. Crazy!
You know what’s even crazier? I kinda want to put this red on for another mani. It’s still sitting on my desk because it came to me without a label. Every day, I look at it and think, “You’re so pretty. I want to wear you again.” So, yeah. You may be seeing this red again really soon!
My next manicure was with Colores de Carol, My Favorite Color is Fall. This polish is so, so pretty! It is rich and super yummy on the nail. I love how the color switches from brown to red-orange. Yesterday, I even caught some green in there, when my nails were at just the right angle. Definitely a fantastic polish, and it was perfect for our weather yesterday, which was rainy, chilly, and very “fall”.
And this is the manicure I have on today! It is with Quixotic Polish, Summer Blues, topped with Colores de Carol, Don’t Look Behind You. And I LOVE IT!!!!
My Polish Pickup order arrived yesterday, and I had to wear this black-to-clear thermal right away. — even though it was after 9 PM when I finally managed to sit down to do my nails. This made for a super late manicure night. I didn’t care! I needed this polish on my nails!
I decided to try it out over Summer Blues. I thought the black would be a pretty contrast against the vintage-esque turquoise or aqua of that polish. I was surprised to find Don’t Look Behind You grays out Summer Blues quite a lot. This manicure didn’t look at all like what I thought it would when I pictured these two polishes together. But I am digging it. I love the grayed out, muted tone Don’t Look gives to Summer. It makes it feel even more vintage and even more appropriate for Fall. But the beautiful shimmer in Summer twinkles through, even when Don’t Look is in its black, cold state. So you can see beautiful, dainty sparkles of pink and red in among the black base and the other glitters and goodies inside Don’t Look.
See? What did I tell you? It was a short and sweet mani week for this gal. I loved everything I wore. I more than loved a couple of my manicures. I say this because I am pretty sure my most recent mani will stay on my nails all the way through the weekend, barring any nail mishaps. Overall, I think that makes for a great week!
