I’m back with my weekly mani wrap-up … and on a Friday, no less. Score!! I think WordPress will say I’m posting on Saturday. But it really is Friday. It is, WordPress. I swear!!
Overall, I’m pretty darn happy with my mani week. It had some fun nail art. And I manicured with some of my new things. It was awesome!! Truthfully, it was a tough week in my real life, so nail polish, as often happens, was my bright spot from day to day. It’s the little things, for sure!
I started off my week with this stunning new purple from Colores de Carol. This is Lace Up Your Skates, which is from the Roller Girl Collection. This purple is so, so, so freaking GOOD! It is bright but also rich. I like that it has a slightly reddish tone to it. It felt good on my nails, and I thought it looked fabulous, too. I don’t always feel that way about purples. When I swatched through the collection, I ended up wearing this one first, just because I didn’t want to take it off.
For my next manicure, I wanted to do something a lot more subtle and calm. I’ve had Zoya, Darby waiting on my “need to wear it” stand for a while. I love this beautifully soft and slightly dusty gray-blue. It is a fantastic polish. It looks so pretty going onto the nail that I almost feel sad when I’m done with each coat. This is definitely a color I could wear all the time. It is right in the middle of my comfort zone. I decided to stamp over it with a design from Born Pretty plate BP-22, and I stamped with China Glaze, I Sea Ponies.
I ended up loving this manicure. It was exactly what I needed after such a bright purple. I loved how it was subtle and soft, both in color and texture. I really enjoy I Sea Ponies as a stamping polish. I think the holographic in it shows up beautifully when it is spread over the nail in a delicate design. I like this manicure for Spring and Summer, but I think it would also be pretty for Winter. It has an icy look or feeling to it that I enjoy.
For my next manicure, I headed back to the brights! I pulled out another polish from the Colores de Carol Roller Girl Collection. This is Princess on Wheels, and she is a fabulous, flirty, and sizzling pink. I like this one against my skin tone. I like seeing this polish on my nails. Let’s just say I have some definite Pink Moments with this darling. I couldn’t get the idea of pink and gold out of my head, so I decided to stamp over my beautiful pink with a feather design from Bundle Monster + gotnail plate BM-XL212. I stamped with China Glaze, Best Ponies Forever.
This is a pretty simple manicure, overall. It’s a single design, stamped in a single color. But I liked it. I like the contrast of the pink and gold. And this feather design is one of my favorites. I haven’t used it in a while.
My final manicure was with Moon Shine Mani, Good. You’re Married. Kiss Her. I bet you can already tell I’m using a previous swatch photo in here. My nails were much shorter when I swatched this. For a few months, I’ve gone back and forth with my nail length, from very short to a little bit long. I think I’ve finally found a length I like for my photos and that is comfortable for my real life. Now, I just have to manage not to break anything! But, when I took this photo, I was in a very short nail phase.
Anyhow, I’ve been waiting for a while to wear this one. Guys, I love this polish. Love, Love, Love, LOVE it! I think this is one of the prettiest polishes in my entire stash. It is so full of glitter. I love the unusual color combination of glitter colors, with those pops of lime green. I love the base color, and it has a ton of holographic. It is sparkly and pretty and delicate and just perfect. I’m so happy I finally managed to wear it!
Can you believe we are at the end of June? I feel like this month went by way too quickly. I think part of the reason is that I have a lot of Summer travel coming up over the next month. And I am dreading it. I hate traveling. I’m such a wimp.
I think I forgot to do favorites for May. But I wanted to be sure to do them for June! I went back through my June weekly manis posts, and I didn’t end up with many favorites. Not that I didn’t love everything I wore this month. I did. But not everything jumped out at me as I looked back at the photos.
My first favorite for June is this rainbow water marble. I did a couple of manicures for Pride Month, and this was one of them. I was so stinking happy with how this came out. I loved the pattern and the fact that I managed to get so many colors into it. I think this is the first time I’ve done a marble with more than 3 colors. I liked this manicure so much that I wore it until it started chipping off my nails. That is really unusual for me!
Polishes I used: OPI: Tell Me About It Stud (red), I Just Can’t Cope-acabana (yellow), My Dogsled is a Hybrid (green), Rich Girls & Po Boys (blue), and Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm? (purple)
My next favorite for June was this beautiful purple from Cameo Colours Lacquers. This is He’s Worm Food. It was part of my May Polish Pickup order. I almost didn’t get this polish. It was kind of an afterthought on my first day of shopping. But I am so, so happy I got it. It is delicate and beautiful. I love it.
My next favorite was my second Pride Month manicure. This is a rainbow gradient using Sinful Colors: Bitten (red), Love Thyself (blue), and Dream On (purple) … Orly Color Blast, Amazon Goddess (yellow) … and China Glaze, Tree Hugger (green). I stamped over two nails using Funky Fingers, Gesso and a design from What’s Up Nails plate B024.
This manicure was everything! Because I wanted to do this to honor Pride Month, I wanted it to be as perfect as I could get it. But I was nervous because I felt like I was trying to pack a LOT of colors onto my nails. My nails aren’t super short. But they aren’t super long, either. I was worried I wouldn’t have enough nail room for the gradient to look like a rainbow. It was my first time trying a gradient with more than 3 colors, too. So much pressure! I ended up being really, really happy with how this turned out. And it was a fun manicure to wear, too.
My last favorite is the polish I am wearing today. It has to go onto this list because I find this polish absolutely enchanting. I love everything about it, as I explained earlier in this post. This is Moon Shine Mani, Good. You’re Married. Kiss Her.
That’s it, guys! The end to yet another week of great and fun manicures. I have about a week left at home before my Summer Travel Extravaganza begins. We are taking a family trip to Hawaii for a week. After that, my daughter and I will be back home for a few days before setting out for the blazing hot Texas Hill Country. I’m not sure yet what I will do with my blog while I travel. But I have about a week to try and plan for it. Hopefully, I will get my act together and figure something out!
